The list goes on. As an example, has anyone ever improved on the basic bolt design? We have. We even have a device that could replace safety wire on aircraft engines; with a weight and cost savings. The FAA is looking at this device with a requirement regulation in mind. We also are proposing to the FAA a design for a device that will eliminate the need to scrap jet engine cases after a FAA mandated requirement that a second inspection of the engine case necessitated that they be replaced, regardless of any other damage sought; a potential of $10,000 cost savings.
