Company
60 years is a long time, in any business; but that’s when Fullerton Concepts (originally Fullerton Design) started a new standard in the conceptual design (inventing) business.
Fullerton Concepts started in a garage, at the family home, in South Lake Tahoe on March 30th, 1952.
Quickly becoming known for creative innovation, Fullerton Concepts was one of the first to offer customers a complete package of mechanical proprietary designs coupled with original finished art of the product in a one to one format - relatively unheard of, at that time.
Besides offering our customers the best in quality design, we committed ourselves to providing superior customer service. Although service was not unique in the design business, Fullerton Concepts went that extra step to make superior service a daily principle.
The founder, Bob Fullerton, quickly saw the opportunity to combine his artistic, sculpting, photographic, as well as conceptual engineering skills to grow his business and adding areas of expertise while keeping the small comfortable complement atmosphere.
In 1982, major growth occurred when Mr. Fullerton invented the ZipNut™, a revolutionary fastener concept. NASA, along with Boeing's Space Shuttle Division, quickly accepted its unique segmented threaded fusticonical design for use on the Space Station and on the Hubble Telescope wide field planetary field repair (twice).
Mr. Fullerton also holds several patents on automatic, torque–sensing transmissions; designed for fields diverse as automotive, wheel chair, heart pump, or low thermal conducive inertial braking systems.
Mr. Fullerton is also known, world wide, as a photographer and sculptor. The best example of his combined talents is the patented "Snow Eagle "; a concept crafted entirely by Bob Fullerton.
